Blessed
are the nursing faculty who treat students and other faculty with
dignity and respect, seeing in them the image of God. They humbly
learn from others, even freshman, and willingly encourage and teach
others. They will grow in understanding and knowledge. Phil 2:3
Blessed
are
the nursing faculty who do not mourn the lack of time, but make
the most of time with their students and colleagues. Their strong
words challenge and their gentle words support and comfort others
as they struggle to learn, teach and build the body of nursing knowledge.
They, too, shall be comforted. Eph 5:15-16
Blessed
are the nursing faculty who consider and use new ideas, materials
and resources to create better student learning and more efficient
teaching. As they advocate for students, and tailor requirements
to the learning needs of students and the health needs of patients,
they also shall obtain mercy. Is 43:19
Blessed
are
the nursing faculty who consistently strive for excellence in nursing
practice, teaching and research, despite the many challenges they
face. They will be satisfied with their vocations. Phil 4:8-9
Blessed
are
the nursing faculty who support and forgive one another, helping
one another and students to learn from mistakes. They, too, will
be forgiven. Mt. 6:14
<Blessed
are
the nursing faculty who maintain personal integrity, resisting temptations
to take shortcuts that would compromise the educational process
and endanger student learning. As they seek consistency in all they
do, they shall receive respect and trust from their students and
colleagues. 1 Pet 3:8-12
Blessed
are
the nursing faculty who help one another and work as a team. They
resolve difficulties quickly and fairly. They listen to each other
and value each other’s contributions to the team. They sit in many
long meetings despite personal discomfort and the press of urgent
emails. They shall be called the servants of God. Mt. 25:40
Blessed
are
you when you take courage, persisting in designing and delivering
quality Christian nursing education even when you are misunderstood
or under-valued by others. Many were persecuted before you. Rejoice
and be glad, for great is your reward in heaven. Mt. 5:11
